Hi I'm Taylor

I grew up in California and enjoy acting. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently 21 years old and have 1 older brother and 1 younger brother. My father works in radio and my mother works from home for a few local doctors. When I was starting High School, I took a basic acting class with a friend and fell in love with the art of acting. I took 4 years of High School theatre classes, performed in numerous plays and theatre functions, and I plan to teach High School Theatre and History as a profession. I went to a community college for a year after High School. At the same time I worked at a screen printing company not far from my house. I was blessed to be able to work part-time and go to school full-time my first semester, then my second semester I worked full-time and went to school part-time. I love working at the screen printing shop and love working with the people there. I was involved in Boy Scouts during my teen years and gained my Eagle Scout award at age 14. I enjoy video games, music, movies, and hanging out with my friends. I went on a hiking trip one weekend and I hurt my lower back and have since had stiff muscles and a messed up spine because of it. I try to be a normal guy my age, but it can be hard sometimes. However, I've learned to just laugh and not let the hard things of life get me down!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this Church by my parents from when I was born. When I was about 14 I was participating in a musical our Youth group was doing in our area. At that same time in my personal life, I was struggling with what to believe and was questioning what I've been taught my whole life. On the last night we performed out musical, I prayed to Heavenly Father to know if this Church and the things I had been taught were true. During the last song that we sang, I felt a warm and joyful feeling enter into my heart. I knew without a doubt that this was Christ's Church once again established on the Earth. Since that night I've always felt His love for me as I continue to learn about Him and do my best to do what He would want me to do.

How I live my faith

When I was in High School, many of my classmates noticed that I didn't drink, do drugs, and didn't profane like many other people our age. I was always happy and cheerful, no matter what circumstances came my way. People always asked me why I treated others with kindness and was never negative towards classmates, no matter what their ideas or opinions. By trying to treat others as Christ would treat them, people noticed that I cared about others and wanted them to be happy like I was. As I continue to be happy and love others for who they are, people notice a difference in me from other people and really can recoginze that I care about all people.

Are Mormons Christians?

People tend to think of Mormons as followers of Joseph Smith, which is false. While we do regard Joseph Smith as an important part of our faith, we only worship Jesus Christ. The legal name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; not the Church of Joseph Smith. We believe Jesus Christ to be the Savior and Redeemer of the World. We believe that it is through His dying sacrifice for us that we can become clean from our sins and live with Him again. With that in mind, Yes, we are Christians. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

I have found that one of the best ways that we can know our Father in Heaven is to serve others. In the Bible, the Savior shares the parable of the goats and the sheep. He then teaches that "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my bretheren, ye have done it unto me." As we serve other people, we come to love others as our Father in Heaven loves us. He gave us His Son so that we might live; we can give to others without any thought of reward or praise. I have also come to know my Father in Heaven by reading from the scriptures and applying the things I read into my life. A Book of Mormon prophet named Nephi tells us to "liken" the scriptures to ourselves. Every time I read my scriptures, my love for my Father in Heaven and my Savior grows and my willingness to follow Their teachings and commandments grows as well. I always end my day in sincere prayer to Heavenly Father and ask Him on what I can do better to become like His Son and do His will and not mine. I have always had faith that He hears me and that He will answer my prayers so long as I'm obedient to His commandments. Show more Show less
