Hi I'm DeeAnn

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in the surburbs of Los Angles. I currently works as a nurse in a clinic and love my job.

About Me

My hobbies are enjoying the outdoors when I am able. I like to sew, knit, tat, do crafts and read. My work and home hours do not leave me much time for anything else. I enjoy scanning in my family pictures into files to preserve them. My other intrest is in family history work when I can do it. I have been maried for 30 years and have 2 grown children. One is married and has recently blessed us with a granddaughter.

Why I am a Mormon

I was 11 soon to be 12 when I met my best friend in the 6th grade while living in California, we are still best friends today. She went to this different church and invited me to go with her to primary and see what she does there. When I first went to church we met in the chapel and sang lots of primary songs that were not familiar to me but they touched my heart. I knew that this is where I wanted to go to church it was fun. For most of my life I was raised Lutheran, went to church off and on without my parents as it was my grandmother who took me when I was younger when we lived near her. God and Jesus was something that I knew to be important because I felt that in my heart. I enjoyed being in young women and going to girls camp. I did not get to go to Sunday Church much as my father did not like me to and would not let me be baptisied. So I had to wait until I turned 18. I moved back to Colorado with my family and I tried to attend young womens at my new church but it was hard not knowing anyone and no one came up to talk with me the few times I went. Life led me down many paths but in my heart I have always knew this church to be true. I was working in a restraunt in the city where my aunt lived as a waitress when I heard a man talk and I asked him if he belonged to the Mormon Church and he said yes he contacted the missionaries and I was soon baptisied. Again life led me down some different paths. I have been active since 1994 and made myself a promise to never let the Lords church become second in my life again. I believe this church to be true and have found this out as I have done my own family history. My pioneer family was introduced to the church while Elder Snow was a missionary in Italy so I believe those feelings as a young girl were activited in me through them. This is the true church Joseph Smith was a prophet and Thomas S. Monson is a prophet today. I enjoy going to church and learning all the things the lord wants me to hear.

How I live my faith

I do many things at church I help in the library, teach 8 - 10 year olds scouting and help teach learning skills that have to do with home making along with visit teaching. I also help my husband teach a marriage class when he is home. I have taught the young children and teenage girls for many years in primary and young women's. I have also been girls camp director for our ward for many years. I have loved all the callings I have been given and doing the things required for them. I belong to two community groups where I live which are Future Farmers of America as an advisor and a womens group in town.
