Hi I'm Bryce

I grew up in rainy Washington State. I'm a hunter, I'm a practicing writer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love creative writing. Ever since I was young, I've had ideas for stories, but I never knew how to get them out of my mind and into the world. In my teenage years, I finally decided to try. Since then, I have brought worlds to life through the keyboard. Creating my own world and developing characters and their personalities carries a huge thrill for me!! Along with this, I love hunting. Even before I could carry a gun, my dad would take me out hunting so I could know how to hunt when I was older. I loved these times out in the field with my dad, and with it came a love for trudging through the sagebrush waiting for the hunting dog you're with to scare up a pheasant or chucker (A chucker is a bird. Yes, it's a very weird name)! Other than that, I love hanging out with my friends and doing whatever we can to save ourselves from boredom!

Why I am a Mormon

My family has been a part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life. For a while, I just went to church because my parents wanted me too. But when I was fourteen years old, I was able to find out through the power of the Holy Ghost that it was true. And if God told me something was true, I figured I better follow it as best as I could. As I've made the gospel and a belief of Jesus Christ part of my life (keeping the commandments, attending church, etc.) I have found that I'm happy. When hard times come, I find that I am able to push through them with optimism because I know who I am, where I came from, where I am going, and even more importantly, that God loves me for who I am and will give me help. I've definetely seen that throughout my life. I know that it is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith because I know it's true. Every Sunday, I attend church with my family and friends. I read the scriptures and pray every night. Doing this helps keep my faith and knowledge of my belief strong, and I learn more every time I do so. What I love about our church is that everyone is welcome. If someone wants to come by one of our meetings to see what it's like, they are more than welcome, including you!

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes, we are. We believe Jesus Christ was and still is the Messiah and Savior of the world. He is the center of our faith and the head of our church. We pray and worship in his name. Everything we believe leads us back to having faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

God has given us commandments, and we need to keep them. But, since we are human, we mess up. Jesus Christ suffered for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane and then on the cross so that if we repent (sincerely change) and try to follow him, we will be forgiven and be able to return to our Heavenly Father, completely free of guilt. How can I know Mormonism is true?

First of all, you must have faith in Jesus Christ. You must believe that he died and atoned for the sins of the world, yours included. If you have this faith, read the Book of Mormon. As you read, your desire to know if the words of the Book of Mormon are true will grow. As this happens, think about the feelings you have as you read (such as joy or peace), and when you have done so, go to God in prayer. Kneel down before Him and just talk to him. Tell Him what you have felt and thought as you have read the Book of Mormon. Then tell him you have decided whether or not that the Book of Mormon is true, and ask if your desicion is right. If you ask in faith, you will recieve an answer. The answer usually comes through our feelings. If you haive feelings of joy, peace, or hope, that's the Holy Ghost telling us that the Book of Mormon is true. Show more Show less
