Hi I'm Harold

I'm a former security gaurd, I'm a loyal friend, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born deaf. Because of modern hearing aids and sign language I am able to talk and hear like a normal person. My father got killed by lightning when I was 6 years old so I was raised by my mom. Though I never knew much about my father, I have learned about him through my mom. He was an honest man and worked hard to provide for my family. I have also come to really respect my great grandfather who fought in the civil war. I like to learn about my deceased ancestors.

Why I am a Mormon

About 2 years ago missionaries came to my door and told me they were sharing a message about Jesus Christ. I invited them in and they shared with me the Book of Mormon, and told me that reading it will bring me closer to Christ. As I met with them more I learned about the church and soon started attending. I learned about Joseph Smith and that there was a modern prophet on the earth today. As I continued to learn more, I knew that it was all true and soon made the decision to be baptized.

How I live my faith

I try to attend church every Sunday. I am the secretary of the young men program in my congregation. It is a peaceful way to help out in the congregation and focus on helping the youth. I also get to meet more people because I’m pretty new to the church. When I’m at home I like to read from the Book of Mormon and other scriptures.
