Hi I'm Matt

I grew up in North Carolina. I am in Utah studying dentistry. I am the drummer in a band. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm originally from North Carolina, but moved to Utah to attend school. I graduated from college and then worked for a few years. I decided to return to school to study dentistry. I'm still in Utah getting ready to apply to dental school. I like playing sports, pretty much any sport. I like music a lot and have a band here in Utah.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the Church and that has obviously had an enormous influence on me throughout my life. I always knew the Church was true just because it has always felt right. My real testimony came while on my mission in Argentina. I wanted to be able to testify with a lot of power that I KNEW the Church was true and so I had been praying a lot to have an experience that I could always look back on with certainty. One morning I was kneeling and praying to have this knowledge concerning Joseph Smith's first vision. I received an overwhelming feeling testifying to me that Our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ did in fact come to Joseph, and speak to him, and call him to be the prophet. The experience was incredible and since that day, I've known without a doubt that the Church is true. I've had other conformations of Church principles such as Priesthood Power and am blessed to be a part of the Lord's church.

How I live my faith

I am a normal member of the Church that participates in Sunday meetings and tries to do the best I can. Although I am no where near perfect, I try to be better everyday. I am a Sunday School teacher in my singles ward and while teaching in front of big groups was a very intimidating idea for me in the beginning, I've come to love it and to really enjoy preparing lessons because of the great help it is to me.
