Hi I'm Angela

I'm a Mormon and am loving it!

About Me

Hi! I am Angela. I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my whole life and have found joy and peace in serving my Heavenly Father. I am currently working as a high school counselor. I love my job and enjoy working with my students. I am lucky enough to be an aunt to some pretty amazing kids. I hope to eventually have a family of my own. I enjoy traveling and would love to get more stamps on my passport! :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. However, just like everybody, I had to find my own testimony. I have found comfort and strength in the difficult times through the church. And, I have also found plenty of joy. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I love Him and I know that this is His church.

How I live my faith

I have the incredible opportunity to not only work with youth at school but also I get to work with the youth in my ward. I have been assigned to work with the young women- ages 12-18. I love it! I am constantly amazed by their strength of character and by the good choices that they make on a daily basis. They know who they are and have set high standards of living for themselves. I have had pretty incredible experiences with the youth that I get to work with. Together we have been able to feel Heavenly Father's love for us.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Although we are most commonly referred to as "Mormons", the center of our church is our Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the literal Son of God and was born of Mary. We know that while he was on earth, he lived a perfect life. We know that he died and suffered for the sins, pains and afflictions of all of us. We know that Jesus Christ was resurrected after his death and that he lives today. He is our older brother and we know that he loves us. I know, from personal experience, that my relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important thing in my life. If I do not have a firm, connected, committed relationship with Christ, it doesn't matter what I have instead. That is number one for me. I try hard to emulate his example in my life. I do this by trying to find opportunities to serve others and by genuinely loving those around me. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

One of the greatest blessings that we have today is that we have a prophet of God. Our prophet today is President Thomas S. Monson. We know that President Monson communicates with God and that he gets instruction and guidance for the church. As members of the church, we have the opportunity to listen to the prophet and to the other leaders of the church every April and October through general conference. This is a very enriching time for us and it helps us to know what our Heavenly Father would have us be doing in our lives. I am grateful for President Monson. He truly cares about everyone. His whole desire is to serve God. He does this by reaching out and serving the individuals that come into his life. I know that he is a prophet of God. Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Currently in church, we are studying the New Testament from the Bible. We know that the Bible is the word of God. We also know that God has blessed us with additional scripture today. We have been blessed with The Bible, The Book of Mormon, The Doctrine and Covenants and The Pearl of Great Price. We know that we are children of God and that He wants us to know about Him. He also wants to be a part of our lives and wants to give us guidance. As such, He has blessed us with scripture to guide and direct our lives. I love the scriptures. I know that they have blessed my life. Show more Show less
