Hi I'm Jared

I 'm a husband and father of three beautiful girls and one awesome boy. I 'm a hydrologist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Northern Utah and have been married for 11 years. I met my beautiful wife soon after my mission. We have four kids and one set of twins. It sure is quite trying at times but to see them happy is well worth the hard times. I love the outdoors and I am a hydrologist for the government. I am fascinated by water, geology, and most of all this beautiful earth that we are blessed with. Any day that I get to be around a creek, stream, or river or just to see it rain reminds me that I truly am blessed and Heavenly Father loves me and wants me to suceed as a father and priesthood holder.I love cycling, mountain biking, and geocaching with the kids. Work has taken me to beautiful rugged Wyoming and my testimony sure has grown immensily since moving so far away from home.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and I have some ancestors that were pioneers and early converts to the church over 180 years ago. I am the youngest of three brothers and I had wonderful examples of parents, grandparents and brothers to follow. I have always known the importance of prayer and the wonderful spirit that comes when someone sincerely prays and talks to Heavenly Father. I was blessed to have some good friends and examples growing up that inspired me to serve a mission for the church in Venezuela. I am a member of the church because I have felt the spirit and I know Heavenly Father blesses us when we are humble and strive to be obedient. I am a Mormon because I know the church is true. I see daily how it blesses lives and truly is there to make us happy. The gospel opens our understanding to be a better person and what it means to be a true follower of Christ.

How I live my faith

I am a leader for the men of our ward. I try my best to make all the men understand the importance of being good husbands and fathers. I strive to find a proper balance between working, family life, exercise, and serving in the church. It inspires me to see others express their faith by the wonderful acts of self-less service that serving in the church provides. I know that as we serve and do our best we increase our faith that allows us to make better decisions in life and become more like Christ and Heavenly Father wants to be. Spending time with my family is the best time spent in the world.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

People do not try to sincerly seek the truth for themselves. They seek to misinformed sources of information. There is a wonderful supporting social life that is a great strength to members. Show more Show less
