Hi I'm Lizzie

I grew up in Northern California. I now live Utah where I go to school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a journalism student at college balancing school, a part time job, church responsibilities and a social life. I love to read although the only reading I have time for right now are text books and I love music and going to concerts. I also have an unadulterated love for pizza... I'm sort of obsessed with it, and have a pizza stone to prove it!

Why I am a Mormon

My faith has been the foundation of my life. I was born a member of the church, but my experience as a Mormon has not been typical. My parents divorced when I was very young. Although I love my parents and they did the best they could with the situation, divorce is one of the hardest things a family can go through and it had its effects on my childhood. I did not understand what was going on, and felt confused a lot of the time. While so many things in my life seemed to make no sense, the gospel made sense. It was safe, secure, and something that I could anchor my life around. I never had a big "ah ha!" moment where I realized that the LDS faith is true. I feel that I have always known it. I have always known Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ loved me, and that they are intimately interested in my life. I have felt their love and support so many times in my life. Its something I cannot deny. That is why I am Mormon.

How I live my faith

With Faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ is how I live my faith. My faith is my frame of reference, how I relate to the world ... its what makes me tick. I try to live my faith every day, which can be really easy and really hard at the same time. Easy because because it teaches me what is right and how I should act. Hard because doing the right things and acting the right way can be really hard, especially when it goes against popular belief. Sometimes I get very discouraged, so I turn to my Heavenly Father and he helps me. Its still hard, but I'm stronger, They make me stronger. I'm nowhere near perfect in how I live my faith, but I know that where I lack, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ will help me.
