Hi I'm Bryson

I'm a student, musician and actor, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student studying Sociology, and preparing to study law in the near future. In a nutshell, I love music and performing. I think music has the ability to touch lives in a number of ways. I sing with a top university choir, I am a member of a competitive barbershop chorus, I sing with a community chamber choir, and I perform with my family in the community whenever possible. Life gets busy but I wouldn't have it any other way. From a young age I've also had a deep interest in musical theatre and performing on stage. I think that everyone can relate in some way to theater as it portrays a wide variety of human experiences. I recently served a mission for my church in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I had many incredible experiences during those two years. Apart from this, I love playing the piano, playing games, and spending time with friends and family. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the church. I come from a long line of Mormons dating back to the earlier days of the church. For many people, it would appear only a matter of tradition and not personal decision to be a member of the church in such a family. I tell you that I had to find out for myself whether this was the path that God wanted me to take. Growing up in a Mormon culture, I always believed that what I was taught about God was true, but there came a point when I could not trust what my parents told me was true alone. I remember at 15 years of age a distinct change in the course of my life when I began to earnestly seek an answer from God whether the Book of Mormon was true, and whether this church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, was the one true church. It didn't come overnight, but slowly and surely, I began to feel a power and a confirming feeling of peace every time I read in the Book of Mormon and as I prayed. That simple feeling of love and assurance that I received was all I needed to know that my Heavenly Father loves me, that he knows me personally, and that he answers my prayers. I knew with an assurance that his answer was yes. I gained a testimony of the Book of Mormon and of the Prophet Joseph Smith who translated it and who helped to restore God's true church on the earth again in modern times. Because of this knowledge, I decided to serve a mission to share with others the joy I had found, and offer them the opportunity to find out for themselves whether these things are true. I was amazed at the life changes that I saw people make, and the happiness that they too experienced, confirming to me my faith, and the reality of this message.

How I live my faith

As a member of the church I attend church services on sundays. I think it is a great time for reflection and rededication. I love the way that I feel when I attend I always leave a better person. I serve in a number of ways in the church community. First, I play the piano for church services, and I consider it my most enjoyable service! I also help teach classes on occasional Sundays, coordinate activities, and strive to help anyone who stands in need. Honestly, the best way to live one's faith is to live what you believe, and I try and do that every day. Sure I stumble and fall sometimes, but I feel that I get better every day.
