Hi I'm Charlie

I love my wife, music, reading, writing, photography, and Batman. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Originally from Western Washington State, I am currently finishing my Bachelors of Science degree in Utah, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Business Management. I will graduate in August and, hopefully, will be starting graduate school for a Masters of Social Work. In High School I loved swimming, and playing Water Polo, and was goalie and co captain of my high school team. As you can tell, I intentionally avoided land sports. I'm also adopted, which happened when I was just a baby. While it doesn't control my life, all of you who have been adopted will probably agree with me that it definitely plays a part in forming who you are. I enjoy photography and writing as two of my favorite pass times. I married my best friend, Juli, last June and could not be happier.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by parents who are members of the church, but that is not the sole reason I've stayed in it. I know this to be the Gospel as Christ taught it while he was on the earth and the way He would teach it now. The happiness and joy found in the Gospel are beyond words. I haven't always been the happiest of people, and I've noticed that as I have applied all that is taught in the Church to my own life that things have improved. More importantly, I have noticed a change in myself. As I read from not only the Bible but the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ as well, listened to Thomas S. Monson, a modern-day prophet called by God, and as I've lived the standards and followed the commandments I have felt the Holy Spirit and learned so very much. I've seen the Spirit change me from someone who had very little true joy to someone who is full of the light the gospel brings and, thus, refuses to be unhappy with the trials I face in life. I know all of those trials, no matter the intensity, to be nothing more than a way for me to become stronger and to grow my faith in my Father in Heaven's love for me and the price Christ paid for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in everything that I do. I love having a close relationship with God, who I consider my Heavenly Father. As He is the perfect Father, I look to him to daily support, love, guidance, and just someone to speak to. I love knowing that I can be with my wife forever, and nothing makes me happier. I also help some friends work on a blog that describes what we believe and how we live our lives. I visit others and attempt to help them in any way that I can. Whenever I get the chance to help another person, it is the highlight of my day. I spent two years of my life dedicated to helping others learn how to experience the happiness I feel.
