Hi I'm Marty

I'm a Rock Climber, a sports fanatic, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 20 years old and currently serving a two year mission for the church. I love sports and a lot of things outdoors. Among my favorites are wakeboarding, snowboarding, and rock climbing. I grew up rock climbing and it has been a big part of my life. I have put most of those things on hold while I am serving my mission. I come from a family of seven and I'm from St. George, Ut. I do have a girlfriend back in St. George who I will continue to date once I return from my mission. I will also start school with a career in the medical field as my goal.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm mormon because I have felt the Spirit of the Lord witnessing to me that it is true. This has come to me through attending church meetings growing up, studying the scriptures, and praying. Yes I was born into the church but that is not why I am still a member. I am still a member because I KNOW it's truly Christs church on the Earth today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by not hiding it. I go out and try to share it with as many people as I can. It has been an enormous blessing in my life and I know it can bless other's lives as well. Seeing it bless others lives is how I truly gain my happiness.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Marty
Not everyone that has lived on this Earth has had the chance to hear the Gospel. Many lived before it was restored and also many continue to live in places where it has limited influence. Some people may live their lives and never even hear the name Jesus Christ. All of these people are God's children still the same. They deserve an equal chance to accept Christ as their Saviour. Performing proxy baptisms in the temple gives all those people the chance to accept (or reject) that ordinance. What a wonderful thing about the Gospel of Christ! Show more Show less
