Hi I'm Laura

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in northern Canada. I came from a large family, and I loved growing up with my siblings, they are my best friends. I like the outdoors, cooking, curling, camping, and just enjoying life in general. I served a full time mission for the church. I was fortunate to be able to serve and love the people of France. It was one of the best and most defining experiences of my life. I am now married to the love of my life with a beautiful family of my own. I love being a wife and mother with all my heart!

Why I am a Mormon

I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints contains the fullness of Jesus Christ's gospel, and essentially that is why I choose to be a Latter-day Saint, or a "Mormon". I know that the teachings are true. I know that as I strive to be like Jesus and follow Church doctrine I find happiness and peace, something that can be hard to find in this world. For me personally, and as a wife and mother, I know of no better tool for raising a family in this crazy and changing world, than with the teachings of Jesus Christ, our master. He truly is the same yesterday, today and forever. The knowledge and strength I gain from the teachings of this church are essential to me, especially in teaching my children how to find and stand up for truth, even when the truth is unpopular. I know for myself that Joseph Smith was the prophet of the Restoration and that he restored Christ's original church to the earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and that by following its council, I am brought closer to Christ. I know that together the Bible and the Book of Mormon contain the complete gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that God is our Heavenly Father, and that we can return to be with Him someday. He wants us to become like Him, that is why we are here! I know these things for myself because I have studied the scriptures and prayed for my own personal witness. I am proud to be a Christain, and more specifically, to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

To me, being a Mormon is more than going to Church on Sundays. It is a life style choice. Everyday I try to be the best person that I can be, and try to emulate the Saviour in all that I do. I try to do my best in any capacity that I am asked to serve in, and doing so blesses my life.
