Hi I'm Erika

InfoSec Professional Portrait Photographer Creative Mother Witty Wife Closet Poetess/singer...AND, a Mormon.

About Me

CISSP, MSIA, and working towards my CISA, I love Information Security! Even more than work, I LOVE my Family, Faith, Friends, and Photography! I am happiest when serving, singing, hiking, hugging, reading, baking, biking, sewing, or snapping a shutter to capture joy.

Why I am a Mormon

In my darkest hour I felt alone and bereft. I was 15 and suicidal. I remembered to pray (my mother had taught me of it's importance before my family broke up). This singular prayer changed my entire life. On my knees, I knew that God loved me. I felt his peace and hope. After reading the first few chapters of the Book of Mormon; I prayed to know if this book was true. I received confirmation that it is the Word of God - Inspired and True. While following the principles and teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I experienced a radical change of heart.... which resulted in improvements in my attitude, appearance, and character. Because of my unwavering faith, I found Healing and Hope through Jesus Christ. He has become my Savior. Amidst life's Trials (expected and unexpected), my faith and hope in Christ keeps me grounded and fixed on creating and sustaining an eternal family - my greatest desire. On July 24, 2010, I was sealed to my husband Jefferson for time and all eternity bringing indescribable peace and joy. Our Faith unites our family in daily prayer, conversation, and scripture study. Our faith teaches us kindness, patience, love, and the joy of service.

How I live my faith

A favorite verse sums up all that I need to do: "Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life." (2Nephi 31:20) Starting and finishing my day on my knees in prayer - individually, with my husband, and with my family, gives me the strength, inspiration, and energy to fulfill my roles as wife, mother, teacher, cub scout leader, Information Security professional, portrait photographer, neighbor, friend, and sister. I live my faith through introspection, accountability - seeking humility, and reverence for Heavenly Father's wondrous creations. Especially the beauteous souls whom I am entrusted to care for as well as the amazing individuals with whom I am graced to interact with.
