Hi I'm Richard

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Washington, but lived in California for most of my life. I like playing basketball and just love sports in general. I speak spanish and I'm a missionary sharing to others what I know is true.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know what this Gospel bring is true. I didn't really go to church or was active in a faith like most kids growing up but I was baptized into the LDS church and it took a while for me to come back, but when I did it was the best decision of my life. When I started living the teaching of Jesus Christ I became happier in my life and knew with all my heart that God exists and he does love all of his children. I know for a fact that this church is true and will help anyone in any situation come closer to God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by sharing it with others, I'm currently serving in Arizona as a missionary for the church helping others come to Christ.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and is an ancient record of the inhabitants that lived on the American Continents. The Book of Mormon contains the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was translated by a prophet called of God in these days to establish his true church once more on the earth. What is the First Vision?

A young boy named Joseph Smith who lived in a small town in New York in the year 1820and wanted to know for himself which of the churches had all of the teachings of Jesus Christ because he wanted to join himself with that church. He attended all of their congregations only to leave them more confused to when he entered. He got to the point where the only way he could find the truth was to read the Bible because that was the only source of the truth of God at that time. He started to read until he came across a verse in the Book of James which says " If any of you lack wisdom let him ask of God, who giveth to all me liberally and upbraideth not and it shall be given him" James 15 By reading this verse Joseph Smith wanted to ask God in sincere prayer to know which church was his church on the earth, so Joseph did as James directed and asked of God in prayer. He went to a grove of trees near his house to pray to our Heavenly Father and something very special happened and this happened in his own words " I saw a pillar of light above the brightness of the sun exactly over my head which descended gradually until it fell upon me. When the light rested upon me I saw in the air standing above me two personages whose brightness and glory defy all description, one of the spake unto me calling me by name and said pointing to the other- This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!" I know this happened with all of my heart and that Joseph was called to be a prophet of God. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is a knowledge of a surety of something is true. It something very strong and can help someone get through the deepest troubles in life. I have a testimony that Jesus Christ is my Savior that he lives. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and every time I read some part of it I feel the Holy Ghost grow stronger within me. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Lord's kingdom on the Earth. I have a sure knowledge that these things are true and never would even think about denying one bit of them.
