Hi I'm Aleks

I'm an Alaskan, a missionary, a writer and a survivor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now, I am a missionary serving in the Arizona Phoenix Mission. I love sharing my knowledge and faith in Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father with others, and this mission is the best choice I think I've ever made in my life. I love the people I can meet every day, getting to know them and share experiences with with them. Meeting people from all walks of life has widened my horizons so much, and I am grateful for the things I am learning every day. I come from Alaska, and I love the outdoors and everything I can see and do in it. It's amazing to me how much beaty God has created here on earth for us to enjoy and make use of, and I think it's important that we take care of that blessing He's given us.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the things contained in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which are taught in this church, are true. I was raised in the Church, but I think everyone needs their own personal conversion to stay true to any faith, and I began to recieve mine when I was fourteen years old. When my father passed away, I had to figure out for myself what I really knew was true - and at that point, what I found that I knew was that I would see my dad again, and that our family wasn't separated forever. I never had to say 'goodbye' to my dad - it was more like 'see you later,' and that was where my conversion truly started. From there, I began really searching for myself, and I found that as I read the scriptures and prayed for answers, I gained a testimony of all that I now know, and I continue learning and strengthening that testimony every day. My conversion continues the more I search for it, and each day I find myself a little happier, a little more full of that knowledge that Heavenly Father is there and that He truly loves me, and that Jesus Christ died so that I could have the blessings of living with my family forever, and returning to live with HIm.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon is not a 'Sunday religion'. It's a way of life! Everything I do reflects, or at least should reflect, what I believe - and what I believe always influences what I do! I'm certainly not perfect, but I know that when I make mistakes I can always pick myself right back up again, ask for forgiveness and try harder. The forgiveness that Christ offers is truly a miracle. I try every day to folow Him by serving and loving others, and by offering the blessings He's given me to those around me as well.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

When we go to people's homes to talk with them, we teach the basic beliefs of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We'll talk with you about what you believe and help you understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how it will, in its fullness strngthen and enhance your beliefs. We will answer questions that you have and help you out with concerns that you may have about the Church. We love sharing and serving, and that's what we're here for! Show more Show less
