Hi I'm Andrea

I'm a Texas mom to two adorable little boys, exercise instructor, marathon runner, blogger, and outdoors lover. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Nothing makes me happier than being a wife and a mom. I love staying home with my two little boys. Another one of my passions is health and fitness. I have a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, and I'm also a certified exercise instructor. I'm addicted to running, and I love the outdoors. I also love blogging, traveling, shopping, and twist cones.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are converts to the church, and joined when they were in their late teens. I was blessed to have been born in to a family that lives the gospel. When I turned 8 I chose to be baptized and become a member of this church.

How I live my faith

Living the teachings of this gospel gives me guidance and peace as my husband and I raise our kids in this scary world. We follow the guidance of church leaders to have family scripture study, family prayer, and one night a week dedicated to family time called Family Home Evening. Having my own personal prayer and scripture study helps keep my mind in the right perspective about what's really important in this life. I also teach primary each Sunday to the 3 and 4 year olds in our church. It is a blessing to learn from them, and it also helps me when teaching my own son the values I want him to grow up with. I'm grateful to have grown up in a church that taught me how to live a life of happiness built on strong marriages and families. I know living the gospel is the only way I will find life long happiness.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

We place high value on our agency, and don't believe in anything that might compromise our agency. Things like alcohol and coffee have addictive substances in them and can therefore cause us to do things we wouldn't otherwise choose to do. We also view our bodies as a blessing from God and treat them with respect like we would a temple. Maintaining and caring for our bodies with exercise and a healthy diet will lead to a life of health and happiness, allowing us to live life to the fullest. Show more Show less
