Hi I'm Bob

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a retired high school physics teacher/California businessman/naval officer. My wife and I have been married for 47 years. Our five children now have their own families. Thus far: 21 grandchildren! Since retiring, we have been busy. It was our great honor to serve the Lord for two years as humanitarian missionaries in far eastern Russia. Subsequently, we returned to Russia for two more years to proclaim the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

The Holy Ghost is a Teacher of truth to those who diligently seek. I have felt His influence in my life, and can testify boldly that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is divinely restored to the earth. God has called modern-day Apostles and Prophets.

How I live my faith

I love the Lord Jesus Christ. I try to show my devotion to Him and to our Father in Heaven by serving and loving his children and by keeping His commandments. This Church provides opportunity for volunteers of all ages to serve and to improve their talents.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Bob
People sometimes mistakenly consider Mormons to be non-Christian, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to be nothing but a cult. Such a conclusion is far from the truth. Mormons worship God, always praying to Him in the name of His beloved Son Jesus the Christ. All that we do in the Church is done in the name of Christ. In the spring of 1820 in Palmyra, New York, a young 14-year-old boy's prayers were answered in a most unexpected way. Both God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ appeared. Joseph Smith learned that God, the Son, and the Holy Ghost are three distinct personages. Thus, Mormons do not have the same contemplation of the nature of the Godhead. Because of this difference, Mormons are not considered "main stream" Christians. Show more Show less
