Hi I'm Thomas

I am the oldest son of 12 children. I learned from a young age to share and be a peacemaker and it has been a true blessing.

About Me

I am currently going to college and working at a physical therapy clinic. I spend my time hanging out with my little nephew and my friends. There are many other ways I live out the days I love the outdoors, especially going on fun overnight hikes with my little brothers or other friends. I enjoy all kinds of music. I am often found singing in my room, the car, the shower, school, work and the grocery store. I enjoy playing the trombone and the guitar. I really love writing songs. In whatever free-time I get, I love getting my heart rate up by doing P90X and by playing sports in the spirit of friendly competition. I played football and ran track in high school, but nothing beats meeting up with the guys and shooting hoops. Go Church Ball! I love sharing this wonderful Gospel with others. I have no problem or fear answering any question about the Church that people may have including anyone who may read this on my profile. I know that this gospel has blessed my life and truly made me who I am today. I know who I am. I have a better understanding of my potential and the measure of my creation. I know who God is as my Heavenly Father. I know He loves me and in fact knows me by name. I know of my standing before Him. These are but a few things that I have learned for myself, independent of any other person. The only way to learned these things is through the Holy Ghost. I have a testimony that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I know this Gospel is true.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have learned to trust in Jesus Christ and His promises. God has promised to answer us if we ask what is right and what He wants us to do. In Luke 11 9-13 this principal is taught 9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you seek, and ye shall find knock, and it shall be opened unto you. 10 For every one that asketh receiveth and he that seeketh findeth and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? 12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? I know that we are all children of God and that He wants to help us in life. He is the greatest loving parent anyone could imagine! I have asked my Father in Heaven and he has heard my prayers. The answer I received confirmed the question I had thought about over and over "Is the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints really Christ's church once again established on the Earth, and Is the Book of Mormon a true and inspired book?" I am a Mormon Because I have gained a witness for myself that this Church is true. I have gained this Testimony independent of any other person on Earth. Since my true conversion to this church, I have received many blessings and happiness I never thought was possible to feel. And it has all come from learning more about my Savior and His plan for me. I am a Mormon because I have come to know Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I like how this question is phrased. It shows that faith is an action, something to be lived. I live my faith by showing God that I love Him and His Son, Jesus Christ. I do things that show them that I want to learn more of them, come closer to them, and develop a strong and personal relationship with them. The way that I do this can be taught through a favorite Primary song I sang when I was younger. It is called "I'm Trying to be Like Jesus". The words go as follows I’m trying to be like Jesus I’m following in his ways I’m trying to love as he did, in all that I do and say At times I am tempted to make a wrong choice But I try to listen as the still small voice whispers, “Love one another as Jesus loves you Try to show kindness in all that you do Be gentle and loving in deed and in thought For these are the things Jesus taught” I’m trying to love my neighbor I’m learning to serve my friends I watch for the day of gladness when Jesus will come again I try to remember the lessons he taught Then the Holy Spirit enters into my thoughts, saying “Love one another as Jesus loves you Try to show kindness in all that you do Be gentle and loving in deed and in thought For these are the things Jesus taught” Living your life in emulation of the Savior is the greatest way for anyone to show there faith in Him. I will admit that I don't always do that, but with Christ's Atonement, also called Grace, all sin and misdeeds can be taken from you and made right again. There are special tools the Lord has given us to help us keep and increase our faith. Faith can be thought of as a fire that is burning. If you don't tend to it eventually it will smolder and burn out. Some of the special tools we are given to keep it burning are prayer, reading scripture including the Book of Mormon, fasting, living the commandments, partaking of sacred ordinances or promises made with God such as Baptism, Sunday worship, and Temple covenants/worship. I try my best to do these things regularly.
