Hi I'm Teresa

I'm a Mormon. I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. Also a former missionary in the Philippines.

About Me

I am a mother of six grown adult children and the grandmother of 24. My family is my joy! I love being around people, meeting new people, and learning new things. I went back to college as a grandmother after being out of school for over 30 years, and recently earned an Associate of Science degree. It has been a wonderful opportunity for me to learn new things. I also love to create things and recently put together my first pieced quilt. I love to paint, sew, cook, and sing.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized at age eight, but my parents were not active until I was about 14 yrs. old. I was old enough to recognize the difference in our family after we became active in the church. I prayed that our family could go to the temple and become a "forever family." Being a member of this church has given me the tools I needed to raise responsible and productive children. I love the gospel for what it has done for me and my familly. I recognize that Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of this religion and everything that is good about it is based on his atonement and teachings. I feel extremely fortunate to have these blessings in my life.

How I live my faith

I try to follow the example of the Savior by loving others unconditionally, by being kind, and aware of the needs of others. I try to be a good citizen and a responsible member of society. I try to actively participate in good things like community and church service projects. I believe that the family is the basic unit of society and that the best way I can influence society for good, is to be a good influence on my family. I serve in my church as much as I can. Right now, I am serving as a leader in the children's organization of our church. I love the children and have a strong desire to teach them truths that can help them be happy throughout their entire lives. I love teaching them about our Savior, Jesus Christ and his love for them. If I could choose, I would choose to teach the children of the church for the rest of my life.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Teresa
As a mother, I have used the gift of the Holy Ghost to give me answers to my prayers, direction in raising my children, and comfort when I've felt down and alone. The Holy Ghost has been with me throughout my life. I would not be the same person without his direction and influence to guide me. I have tried to teach my children to listen to his promptings and answers as they have questions in their lives. Show more Show less

Can husband and wife be together forever? Do you believe that families will live together in heaven?

Teresa
I do believe that husbands and wives can be together forever. I believe that life continues when we die. That because Christ was resurrected and overcame physical death, that we too will be resurrected and live again. I believe that the family is the basic unit of eternity and that as we make and keep sacred covenants and promises to our Heavenly Father in his Holy Temples, we can be together with our families through eternity. Because I love my family so much, I have made the sacrifices it takes to qualify for temple blessings. It gives me much peace and joy to have this knowledge and testimony.  Show more Show less
