Hi I'm Gay

I am a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. I love my family, I love to quilt, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 75 year old mother of eight, grandmother of 21 and great grandmother of 16. I was a stay at home mom until my youngest was in junior high and my next to the youngest was in high school. Then I worked for the school helping out in the library and helping students who needed extra help. I love to read, quilt, and garden. I worked until the end of 2008 when I retired. I love being busy. I also enjoy going to the gym and exercising. When I was in my 50's I went to a technical school to get a secretarial certificate. I worked for a local university until my retirement in 2009.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, my testimony has grown over the years. I have experienced many things in my life that make me appreciate the Savior and His willingness to atone for our sins. It is a great blessing to know there is a living prophet on the earth today even Thomas S. Monson who receives revelation from God to direct His church. We have the opportunity to listen to Him. When I heed his council I am blessed. I know that if I repent of my sins and keep the commandments I will be able to return and live with my Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ some day because of the atonement. I believe that families are ordained of God and I am thankful for my family. I know we all have our free agency to choose. There are consequences for each of our choices. When I choose to keep the commandments I am blessed. I love the Book of Mormon and how it testifies of Jesus Christ. It strengthens my testimony of Him as I read it. I am thankful for my husband and our life together and I'm looking forward to living together throughout eternity.

How I live my faith

My husband and I serve in the Temple and I am a visiting teacher. I am also involved in making quilts that are distributed throughout the world wherever there is a disaster or need. I love being involved in things that will bless those in need. It gives me great satisfaction. I also do indexing for Family Search. This also is very satisfying work and I feel good about my contribution in making records available to the many people who are searching for their ancestors. My husband and I served a mission in Salt Lake City at the Family History library. We loved our service.

What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

Gay
We believe that we will continue on after this life if we live worthy. We will live with our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ and we will live with our family who we were associated with on this earth. To me, this is truly Heaven. Show more Show less
