Hi I'm Braden

I'm from Long Beach, California. I served a mission in Boise, Idaho. I've been married for 6 years and have 2 daughters.

About Me

I am a Substation Operator for the local utility here in Southern California. I have two wonderful daughters (2 years old and 8 months old). I've been married to my wonderful wife for 6 years now, and we are still enjoying each and every moment together. Having two kids makes it more fun/frustrating... We enjoy movies, sports, eating, and staying active.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was in High School I decided to find out for myself if the Book of Mormon was true or not. I grew up LDS, so I knew a lot about the religion. But I did not have my own testimony. One night after reading the Book of Mormon I decided to pray and ask Heavenly Father if it was true. I prayed for quite a while until I finally started to feel my chest burn. I hadn't eaten anything out of the usual and I normally didn't get heartburn, so I knew in an instant that that feeling was the Holy Ghost testifying to me that the Book of Mormon was/is the word of God, and that Joseph Smith really did see God the Father and Jesus Christ...

How I live my faith

I currently am the Ward Mission Leader of the Lakewood 4th Ward. I work closely with the missionaries that are assigned to this area. Along with my wife we do the best we can to teach our daughters how to be Christlike...

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Braden
The Mormon church is a non-profit organization. In order to have buildings, books, and other materials to learn from, we have been asked to pay tithes and offerings. This is no different from times of old, where the prophet Malachi informed us of the Lord's promise that, "the windows of heaven would open up and there would not be room enough for you to receive the blessings" if we but give back ten percent. I have followed this "law" for most of my life, and I can honestly say that I can no longer afford to NOT pay tithing. The Lord truly blesses those that obey His commandments. Show more Show less
