Hi I'm Kristin

I'm from CA. I love photography, baking, and being outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I want to be a professional photographer when I grow up. I am going to school and taking as many photo classes as I can. I love to bake brownies, cookies, cake, caramels, you name it! I played soccer all growing up and I still love the sport and play with friends whenever I get the chance. I love to be outdoors, go on adventures, hike mountains, climb on things, and just explore!!

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a junior in high school I became friends with a group of people who weren't the best influences on me. For about a year, I was surrounded by drugs, cursing, and alcohol on a weekly basis and I didn't think it was making that much of an impact on me until I met with my Bishop for an interview. He didn't tell me that I was a bad person, instead he just told me that some people were worried about me, people I cared about a lot, and it made me take a second look at my life. I decided to try and meet with him again the next week and this time he asked if he could bring my mom in, to which I said yes. We had a long talk about what my goals are and what road I needed to take to achieve those goals. I never felt closer to my mom then I did after that meeting, our relationship has been 100 times better since that day then it was before and needless to say I stopped hanging out with those people. I have never felt such a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders, a weight that I didn't even realize was there and I've been happier than ever.

How I live my faith

Since I graduated high school in '09 I have been attending a young singles adult ward close to home on Sundays. They have really fun activities every week(such as broom hockey, a team cooking competition, and flag football) and I know that whenever I go I'm going to be able to have a great time and still feel the spirit. I just got a calling in the activities committee and I'm excited to be able to put some of my ideas into action. Oh, and did I mention we have this amazing couple that cooks food for us every single Sunday! When I am in situations where I can't feel the spirit I feel lost and always start to question myself and my beliefs, but the second I go to church or an activity or even just read my scriptures for a few minutes, I have this overwhelming, calming feeling that I am doing the right thing.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

The Church believes that homosexuality is wrong because we believe that families are forever. We believe that before we were born everyone was part of a family and God was our Eternal Father. We also believe that when a family, or part of a family dies, that family can still be together for eternity in Heaven. This is important to understanding the Church's attitude on homosexuality because in order for a family to be made(for a baby to be born) there must be a man and a woman, not two men or two women. God made it so that there must be one man and one woman in order to have a child and become a family and then that family can be together forever. Homosexual couples are incapable of doing so. However, the Church does not automatically dislike homosexual individuals just because they are homosexual. For example, I have a couple of homosexual friends and just because they are homosexual doesn't mean that I'm not going to be friends with them. I love their personalities, I just don't agree with the choice they made to be homosexual. Show more Show less
