Hi I'm Ryan

I was born and raised in Sin City - Las Vegas. I want to be a cop someday. I love politics and sports. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived all my life in Las Vegas, Nevada. I love it there. I come from a big family. I am the youngest of five, two older brothers and two older sisters. My dad and mom are awesome. Before I became a missionary I went to college studying political science. I love it and cant wait to return to my studies after my missionary service is done. Right now I am a missionary for the church and was called to be a spanish missionary in Minnesota. I I love being a missionary and seeing the gospel of Jesus Christ change people's lives.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both members of the Mormon church and raised me as such. However, I didnt really have my own testimony of the church growing up. As a teenager I wanted to know for myself if this was really the true church of jesus christ, so I did what I needed to do. I prayed and asked God if it was true. I felt the peaceful fruits of the holy spirit testify to me that it was. I have seen this church change my life and, as a missionary, change others.

How I live my faith

Right now I am inviting others to come unto christ as a missionary for this church. We are called to serve as missionaries for two years. I have a little less than a year left. Everyday I study the doctrine of christ for a couple of hours and then go out and talk to people about the gospel of jesus christ. It is the hardest, yet most rewarding thing I have ever done. Right now I am studying spanish and am not quite fluent, but getting closer, so that I can help also hispanics increase their faith in Christ and receive the blessings he has for them.

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes, absolutely yes, a verse from the book of mormon says it best: 2 Nephi 25:26: " And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins." What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

We believe in the restoration of the church and gospel of Jesus Christ. God has always called prophets or men he trusted to lead and guide his people. These men had authority to act in his name. They always taught that salvation came through Jesus Christ. When Jesus Christ was here he suffered the consequences of our mistakes and sins, so that through repentance and following his gospel we could return to live with our Heavenly Father. Jesus Christ set up his church upon the earth and called twelve apostles to lead and guide the church. Sadly Jesus Christ and the apostles were all killed. We believe that this started the apostasy and the doctrines that Jesus Christ taught were slowly changed. There was nobody with the authority to lead and guide the church. When the circumstansces were right and the world was ready, God called another prophet on the earth. His name was Joseph Smith. Through him, Jesus Christ set up his church again on the earth and restored the gospel of Jesus Christ in its fulness. Today we have a prophet and twelve apostles on the earth, but they aren't the head of the church, Jesus Christ is. He leads and guides this church through these servants. How great a blessing it is to know that God hasn't changed and that he still speaks today and has given us someone we can know won't lead us astray, a prophet of God. The current prophet on the earth is Thomas S. Monson. Show more Show less
