Hi I'm Adrianne

Adrianne Fowkes. I grew up in a small town in Utah. I'm a wife, mother, nurse, and Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mother of two beautiful children (4 year old boy and 2 year old girl) and one on the way! Being a mom is my full time job which I absolutely enjoy! It's definitely a lot of work but children have such a great spirit that brings laughter and happiness into my life. I enjoy the outdoors with my family. We go camping a lot in the summer. I love to be in the mountains! I also enjoy cooking and love to make new recipes! I work part time at the hospital taking care of mothers and babies after birth. I married my high school sweetheart who brings so much joy into my life! We have been married for almost 6 years now. He is a school teacher. I love life and most of all love the gospel and the meaning it brings into my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up learning and living the LDS religion. I have defining moments in my life where I have come to know that the Book of Mormon is true, that Jesus Christ is my Savior and can heal my wrongs, and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and we have a prophet here today. As I grow older I realize how much more important the gospel is to me and the fact that it binds my family together for eternity. My family is what brings me the greatest happiness and I want that to continue forever. Knowing what I know through the gospel gives me the motivation to live by it's standards so that I may return to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and have my family there with me. I can't think of any other greater blessing than this!

How I live my faith

First of all attending church every Sunday is a must! It is my energy and spiritual booster to get me through each week! In fact I wish I could attend my Sunday meetings every few days! My husband and I try to gather our kids each Monday night (or a different night if I have to work) and hold a family home evening where we can do a fun activity together (watch a church movie, play a game, go outside for a walk, etc...), and we also try to have a very short lesson (remember my kids are young). We also try to read a verse or two from the Book of Mormon with our kids each night before they go to bed and have a family prayer together. I visit women in my ward on a monthly basis and I love the outing to be able to visit and have adult conversation:). I have helped organized and do activities with the youth. I have taught very young children at church and helped them learn about Jesus and sing songs. I now have the opportunity to teach other women in my ward one Sunday out of the month. I love the lessons because they are talks given from modern day apostles in our Church. I keep busy with my faith but it is so much a part of me and I want to serve others and help them gain a testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
