Hi I'm Alana

I grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina and am a stay at home mother.I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

Who I am is wife, mother, daughter, aunt and child of God. I love to read, bake, take pictures, and blog. My most recent hobby is trying to fix up and decorate our first home. I graduated with a BS in Dietetics seven years ago but I've been blessed to be able to stay home with our three young active sons and angel daughter. We miss our east coast family but enjoy finally having a 'real job'. My husband currently teaches English at Colorado State University.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of this church. It is a way of life and a community of friends all rolled into one. Christ is the guiding star and head of the church and following his teachings brings me joy and happiness. He teaches me how to love and rear my family, how to be a good neighbor, how to deal with trials and heartache, where to take my troubles, and gives me a source of guidance for all the other decisions in my life big or small.

How I live my faith

I wake up each morning thinking about my faith and likewise go to bed each night as I pray and study the scriptures daily. I teach once a month at church during the third hour to the women's group in our congregation called Relief Society. It is a pleasure to study up on different gospel topics before I teach. As a full time mother of three boys, and expecting a little girl soon, I try to pass on my testimony of Christ and His gospel to these little investigators around the dinner table and during our weekly family gathering called Family Home Evening.
