Hi I'm Dallin

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an only child of my mother and father who divorced soon after I was born, me and my mother were adopted fully and completely by my step-father's 'clan'. They're big. Hence them being called a clan. After moving around a lot, I did most of my growing up in West Virginia for a little over11 years. I spent my youth as the only member in my high school, the only youth in my ward... I grew up that way. I suppose it's a different way to grow up than most others of my faith experience, but I attribute a lot of who I am today, and what I stand for to that. The fight to believe these things for myself while having few others around me who did, is what gives me a testimony today. I was also a wrestler throughout high school and for a time in college, I was one of the captains of my high school team, my most valued attributes are, diligence, honesty, and charity. I'm currently serving a Spanish speaking mission in the states, and my greatest desire right now is simply to be a tool in the Lord's hand.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because my parents taught me to look for myself, and to know these things for myself. I suppose it starts back when I was 7 and my mother read the Book of Mormon with me every night until we finished it as preparation for my baptism. We came up on the last chapter, Moroni chapter 10, verse 4. As my mother read the verse, the boldness of the whole promise just stuck out to me. I think the beauty of this Gospel is the invitation it carries. Ask God, know for yourself! Don't believe me or anyone else, believe God! I took that challenge at the age of 7, and I know that it's true. I've since grown and continued to learn, and due to my background of where I grew up, I've seen starkly the difference that the Gospel can make in a family's life, and I hope to be able to give that to my family and as many others as I can.

How I live my faith

I live my faith very simply, because our faith and the Church are simple. "Come, follow me" said our beloved Savior, and that's what I try to do. I do my best to follow his example in all things, and right now I'm serving a 2 year Spanish speaking mission, and I've never felt closer to my Savior than I do now. Serving a mission is what has saved me from who I used to be, and is preparing me for who I need to become.
