Hi I'm Landon

I live for Soccer, I am a Missionary, I am an Adrenaline Junkie, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name Is Landon Bouwhuis. I love to swim and Play Soccer. I have been playing soccer for 14 years and it was my life. I love cars and going fast. I live for anything that will give me an adrenaline rush. I love to rock climb, wakeboard, snowboard, Rollerblade, and anything that keeps me up and moving. I consider myself a natural athlete just because any sport that I know of I will play. One of my favorite things to do is go golfing. Just being able to relax, have fun, but also be competitive is an amazing thing to me. The only bad thing about sports is that i love to win. I'm very competitive and sometimes because ruthless. It's kind of a curse that I just have to live with. I have 2 brothers. One older who is 26 and One younger who is 17. They are both awesome and I love them both. My parents have been the greatest people to look up to in my life. They have shown me the example of what a good life consists of and I am very grateful for everything they do for me and my brothers. My family means everything to me. I would give up everything I have just to help them in any way. I know that they would also do the same for me. Families are Eternal and is the only thing that matters. Right now I am serving a 2-year mission for my church in the Arizona Phoenix area. It is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me in my life. Through my experiences I have been able to see people grow closer to their Savior Jesus Christ. It is without a doubt the best two years of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I, just like anyone else, had to find out for myself if the things that this Gospel contains are true. I was Born to parents that were raised in the Latter Day Saint Faith, but I will be the first to admit that I wasn't always the most faithful. It took me several years of searching, reading, and studying to know what my path was. I wasn't very involved in my religion, and I am no where near being perfect. Though I have made many mistakes, those are the things that make me the person I am today. I'm not quite sure where I would be if I didn't put forth the effort to find out the things I know today. It was through reading the Book of Mormon and Praying and asking my Heavenly Father if it really was the word of God that I came to know that what I am doing now is the path He has desired me to be on. I know that it is only through the Atonement of Jesus Christ that I am the person I am today. He has helped me through 1,000's of trials that I have had. He is my Rock, my Redeemer, and My savior.

How I live my faith

I know that it is through my example that draws me closer to Christ. Through Reading, Praying, and attending church services is how I can learn and build that Faith. There is so many things that our Father in Heaven asks us to do. When we are obedient to his will that is how we will strengthen our faith in Him and His gospel. One thing I have found is that we can't just be a Christian only on sunday. It is a process that needs to take place everyday. The lord has commanded us to start each day with prayer and to end the same way. We should be looking for ways to serve, uplift, inspire, and encourage those around us EVERYDAY. Not just on sundays. True disciples of Jesus christ find their purpose by serving others, and as Christ said, "losing our life for him." Also because I am a missionary I am able to serve others and help them grow closer to their Savior as well. It is truly a blessing to see others come unto Christ in their lives and make covenants to him that in turn strenghten every aspect of their spiritual and physical well-being.
