Hi I'm Kristi

I love to change my life and help others do it too! I sing in the car and on big stages. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to sing, serve, and stand as a witness of Christ! I have been lucky enough to grow up reading the scriptures with my mother and watching her and my dad serve others in a variety of different ways. I am a vocal performance student, and served a full time mission in North Carolina. I also LOVE to cook new healthy things. ( I like to call them " Creations") I also love a good adventure. I love trees and the outdoors, I'm lucky the Lord placed me right here in Dallas Texas!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon because I believe that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever! I know that God, our Heavenly Father, and Jesus Christ came to the young boy Joseph Smith and called him to Restore the Gospel of Jesus Christ just as He had it when Christ was here during his Earthly Ministry. I know that the Authority of God has been given to our living Prophet, Thomas S. Monson, to guide Christ's church today. Here, my family and I can partake of all the saving ordinances and grow closer and closer to our Heavenly Father. I know that Heavenly Father loves all of his children, no matter what color, body type, or ethnicity. Here we can all unite in our love and devotion to Jesus Christ, because we understand that He Lives, and will never, ever stop guiding us back home.

How I live my faith

Right now I am serving as a Full time Missionary. I get to serve the people of Raleigh North Carolina ALL the time. I have served in many different aspects of the church, but being a missionary is my favorite area to work in by far! I get to help guide others to a more personal relationship with Jesus Christ through helping them understand the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

What is faith?

Faith to me is Action! Over time and a lot of study (both from the scriptures and of my own life and of those around me), I have come to realize that anyone can believe in Christ, but action that comes from the belief we have is what fortifies our Faith. Faith is a foundation built on Jesus Christ. I like to think of it this way. I have a hope or a belief that Jesus Christ can heal our hearts. Until I forgive someone ( that is the action of Faith) I cannot fully have an evidence of Christ's Atonement in my life. Once I forgive and let go of my burden, or grudge, or bad energy, The Spirit of the Lord can enter my heart and begin to heal the wounds. Faith should be an inspiring word. It is to me! Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

I believe in the Bible because I have prayed to God and asked Him if it is His word. Through the feelings that came to me after my prayer, I knew it to be the word of God. I know that Jesus Christ really did come to Earth. I know that he died on the cross at Calvary and that he arose from his tomb 3 days later. I know that although we don't see Him now, He Lives!, and leads His church through a Prophet once again today. Without the pattern that was laid out through Christ over centuries of people, prophets, and records ( both the Old Testament and New Testament), it would be very difficult for us to fully understand who our Heavenly Father is, and how we could return to live with Him again. Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Our Heavenly Father loves us. God loves us so much He provided a way for us to ALL have an opportunity to live with Him again. Jesus Christ, through his perfect example, showed us that everyone needs to be baptized. Throughout the Bible and also the book of Mormon, Him and his prophets, and missionaries, taught everyone that in order to take upon the name of Jesus Christ we must enter the waters of baptism and be baptized by someone holding His proper authority. Because there were, and still are many places on the Earth where the Priesthood could not/ cannot be found, many people have not had the opportunity to be baptized in this life. There is one God, one Jesus Christ, One law, and only One way. That means everyone needs a chance to hear, and have the chance to accept the gospel of Jesus Christ. Everyone needs the chance to follow through with their Faith in Him as well. By being baptized for our ancestors in the temple we can do a great service for them. We believe that Agency, the gift to act in whatever way we choose, will never be taken away from us. Therefore, if the person we were baptized for does not except the Gospel of Jesus Christ, or does not want to be baptized, they do not have to except the service we have done for them.
