Hi I'm Neil

I love playing guitar, writing songs, and rocking out. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now I'm a missionary in the Alabama Birmingham Mission. That means I knock on people's doors, teach them about Jesus Christ's restored gospel, and then I help them get ready to follow Jesus's example by being baptized. Other than that, I'm a pretty normal 20 year old guy. I love playing guitar, fly fishing, video games, hanging out with my friends, drawing and painting, and learning about new stuff. I plan to go to College next year and I'll probably major in Graphic Arts. Or maybe something with music. I don't really know. But I do know that God's got a plan for me, and I figure I'll just sorta follow along with that. But right now all that matters is preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the "Mormon" church. As a young child, I learned about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I learned about God's holy servants, called prophets, and how God inspired them to write the scriptures. I learned about the prophets in the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon. I learned about God's latter-day prophets, like Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, and Gordon B. Hinckley. I learned about God's commandments, given to mankind through these prophets. I have always known that Jesus Christ is real, and that he is my personal savior. At the age of 8, I decided to follow Jesus Christ and be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost. At that time, I promised God I would keep all his commandments. The blessings that have come to me as I've lived the gospel of Christ are the witnesses to me that it is true. As I've grown older and had more life experiences, I've had questions about the church, but I have always found answers as I've studied the scriptures for myself, and prayed to Heavenly Father for knowledge. I remain a Mormon today because I have found everything the church teaches to be true because I've experienced it personally. when these modern prophets, or the Book of Mormon, or the Bible, ask us to do something, I do it, because I have faith that they speak the words of Christ. And I see the promises that they give us come true in my life. For me, that's the pursuit of truth - Live what you believe, and then, by seeing the promised blessings come, you know of it's truthfulness see St. John 717. That's what I've done, and that's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Right now I live my faith by sharing it. My life has been, and continually is, transformed by the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Because I have seen so much joy and experienced so much peace through living his teachings, I want others to enjoy those blessings too. And so I preach the gospel as a missionary.
