Hi I'm Gary

I have a great life!

About Me

I am married and my wife Melissa and I have four children who are all grown now. I am a career army officer and work in Maryland in the public affairs field. I like to scuba dive, play sports, shoot skeet and trap and go hiking with my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. The gospel has always been a big part of my life. The peace and joy I have each day of my life comes from the blessings our heavenly father pours out upon us for our willingness to try to follow the savior's teachings. The restored gospel of Jesus Christ is the foundation of our happiness in life and in the eternities. It is hard to imagine my life without the gospel.

How I live my faith

I have moved all around the world in my career and have served in many different ways in the church and met members from all different walks of life. It is always a joy to have a common bond with people wherever we go. My favorite experiences have been working with the youth and watching my children grow up in the gospel.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

We believe that the Holy Ghost, or sometimes called the Holy Spirit, is the third member of the Godhead. The other two members of the Godhead are our Heavenly Father and his only begotten son Jesus Christ. Together these three are one in purpose in bringing about our eternal happiness. The Holy Ghost has the primary role of helping us understand the truth. He can teach us spiritual truths that our beyond the comprehension of our mortal mind. He can influence any person on the earth if they truly seek to know Gods will. We believe that the Holy Ghost is a spirit being, and that he can dwell within us if needed. We believe that the Father and the Son have physical bodies as spoken of in scripture. If we are living our lives in harmony with the teachings of Christ and have been baptized by proper authority, we believe that we can have the Holy Ghost as a constant companion to guide us in this life on earth. Are Mormons Christians?

Yes. Our savior Jesus Christ is absolutely the key to our eternal salvation and happiness. We believe that it is our responsibility to emulate his life and his teachings while we live on this earth. We believe that he atoned for our sins, and that only through his sacrifice are we able to return to live with our Father in Heaven in the eternities. Show more Show less
