Hi I'm Samantha

I love my family, sports, winter and the mountains. I'm crazy about Texas. I'm a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Born and raised in Utah. I firmly believe there are only two days of the whole year that can bring true happiness, the first snow of the year, and the first day of baseball season. I try to be funny, although I don't think it always works. I love being with my family, they are such a great source of strength and support to me. Currently I am serving as a full time missionary in Fort Worth Texas, so although I don't get to talk to my family very often (we get to write them once a week and we call home twice a year), I know they love me and I love them right back. Everything in my life is so happy right now and I can't wait to see what's in store!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a member of the Church. My mom was as well, and my dad was baptized when was about 23 years old. But there comes a time in everyone's life where you just have to know for yourself. I had some defining moments in high school that have strengthened my testimony and made me the person I am today. The world today is a little bit crazy, but knowing we have a loving Heavenly Father who loves us and has a plan for us is the sunshine through the clouds. I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have often said that what has built my faith the most is the Plan of Salvation, or the knowledge that we lived with God before this life and we will live with him again and with our famlies if we all live how we should. What a blessing! It is one that has impacted my life greatly and one I love being able to share with people daily.

How I live my faith

Currently I'm serving as a full-time missionary in the beautiful state of Texas. I love being a missionary. It is hard hard work, but it's beautiful. I know that our Savior Jesus Christ atoned for our sins, and that power of the Atonement has great power in our lives if we will just use it. I am never going to be perfect, but little by little each day I can try a little bit harder. As long as I do my best, He makes up where I'm going to lack. Right now, all day every day I get to talk to people and invite them to come unto Christ. But this is not something we do for 2 years or 18 months... It's a lifetime. Being members of Christ's church entails that we are representatives of Him, and this should be apart of everything we do. Just go about doing good! You will never know how much a smile or a post-it note telling someone how good of a job they're doing will mean to someone.

What is faith?

Samantha
Faith for me, is something that can be a little hard to explain. We can't hold it in our hands or share it with our friends. But basically faith is knowing something, believing it, even though you can't see it. Sometimes our faith is tried and tested, but it is only because God has a plan for each one of us, and He knows what's in store. If we have faith, and just believe that there is light at the end of the tunnel, our Savior Jesus Christ will be right there next to us even when the hard times come. Show more Show less
