Hi I'm Viviana

I grew up in Chile, I love to read, I work in an elementary school, I create quilts and I am a Mormon

About Me

I was born and raised in Chile. I lived a very privileged life with goodly parents and very supportive brothers. I moved to Hawaii after I married my surfer husband. Together we began a family we dreamed of having. We received one daughter, who has brought only joy to our lives. Forced by budget at the time I learned to sew, to cook, to grow a garden and other things I never imagined to learn while I was growing up. I worked to help my husband get through school. We moved to Japan where I learned about other cultures and yet a new language. I am blessed to be able to understand those who speak other languages, who go through the adjustments of coming into new cultural settings. I love those who try to adapt and succeed.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon mainly because I read the Book of Mormon when I was nine. I could not stop reading it once I began. It was the first book I ever read from cover to cover. I felt its truth. I knew in my heart that those speaking from it were telling me that the Lord loves all of us and that He is no respecter of language, culture, or race. He gives freely and abundantly. I am a Mormon because I have seen first hand the sacrifice of the church leaders in moving the work forward. This is a church that believes in service, in being active participants. This is a church with a clear leader and with many willing faithful followers.

How I live my faith

My faith is in everything I do. There are no boundaries or roles. There is no separation between my faith and my work, or my faith and my role as a friend, neighbor, daughter, mother. It is all the same. I labor all day long in what my Heavenly Father wants me to do and be. I am happy to be a daughter of a God who loves me. I am constantly telling others about my religion because I know how happy I am. They notice it and usually ask me before I bring it up.
