Hi I'm Mark

I'm a construction professional. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Alberta, Canada. I am 39 years old. I live in Utah now, but have lived with my wife and four daughters in St. Louis, MO and Seattle, WA. My profession is management of commercial construction. I have played a lot of ice hockey and basketball in my younger years.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my parents raised me that way. But I stay a Mormon because of an experience I had where a personal witness was delivered to me regarding the truth of Joseph Smith's First Vision when I was 19 years old. I also stay a Mormon becasue of the power that I find in how the Church teaches me and helps me know Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I serve in the church currently as an advisor to 16-17-18 year old young men. We also have a BSA venturing Crew organized for them of which I am the adult advisor. I find it rewarding to see growth in the boys as they apply principles of truth and exert themselves in worthwhile activities. Personally, I study the scriptures and write in a journal each day with an eye towards understanding what I can do to progress as a person and draw closer to Christ.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Mormons believe that grace is the enabling power of Jesus Christ. It is given freely to those that humble themselves and exercise faith in Jesus Christ. My personal eperience is that the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ is what enables me to make any and all positive changes in my life. Mormons believe that we are saved by Grace, in concert with obediance to the laws & ordinances of Christ's gospel. Show more Show less
