Hi I'm TaVaun

I am a mother. I am a scientist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a biologist and currently juggle working part-time, family and church. I am a wife and mother of one. I am so thankful for my family and the love and the lessons that I could only learn in a family organization. Our Heavenly Father had much wisdom in establishing our lives in families and allowing families to last forever. I have learned some of the love that the Savior has for little children and why he spent so much of his time blessing each child individually. The children are wonderful examples of how to accept and follow the teachings of Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love that this church is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that our lives are changed for the better by living the principles in it. I know that we are just as much in need (if not more) of a prophet today as in biblical times and I am so thankful that we still have a prophet to lead and guide the world today. I know that as I have lived the teachings of this church my family is stronger, my husband and I are closer, I am more patient as a mother (or at least recover more quickly) and I have more peace as I travel around in this crazy world.

How I live my faith

The main ways that I live my faith are through pray, scripture study, repentance and service. I was hoping I could just list one, but they are all so inter-related for me. I have really noticed that if I do not maintain daily prayer and scripture reading, I quickly lose faith. When I am faithful in these practices, I remember all the blessings that my family and I have received. I see hope with raising children in the times that we live in. I am lead to correct the things in my life that seperate me from my Heavenly Father and recieve peace as I try to follow the teachings of the Savior, Jesus Christ. This peace and gratitude for my blessings allow me to reach out to others and share love and friendship with them. I just try my best each day to do a tiny bit better in becoming who my Father in Heaven knows and wants me to be.
