Hi I'm Mekaiah

I'm a wife, a student, and a youth leader. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I are both living the student life. I'm studying to be a registered nurse and I am so grateful for the opportunities I get to meet so many different people from a huge array of backgrounds. I love camping, cheesecake, music and decorating everything and anything I come in contact with.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church, and I am very grateful for the the influence it has had in my life. I love the emphasis put on families, and how they can be together for all eternity through the beautiful sealing powers of the temple. It is so comforting to know that after this life, we are all able to be together again. I know that Joseph Smith restored Christ's gospel to it's fullest, and I am so very grateful to have the priesthood in my home. I find the simplest, most wonderful phrase I know is from the primary childrens' song, "I am a Child of God". This basic truth blesses me daily in my life. I also am grateful for a living prophet on the earth today, who recieves revelation from our Heavenly Father and who leads us and guides us throughout our lives. I am Mormon, well, because there is nothing else on this earth that would make me more happy, more full of joy than I am when living the gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by dedicating my time to those around me. Although sometimes it can definately be hard coordinating my busy school schedule with everything else that is important- things like my husband, family, and the people around me, I find that when I give service to others, everything else just falls into place. The young women I work with are everyday examples to me of how we can hold fast to the standards of the Lord. I live my faith by trying my hardest to be a disciple of Christ- so that people will want to know Christ, because they know me.

What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

Church is something we go to every week on Sundays for about three hours. There we learn about various principles within Christ's gospel, and we relate those lessons to scriptures from the Bible, the Book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenants. The Temple is a very sacred place that worthy members go to to perform ordinances for both themselves those that have passed on. There these faithful members make covenants, pray and learn about the plan of salvation. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about "eternal life?"

Eternal life is a belief that we can essentially live forever with our families as long as we follow the standards the Lord has set, and adhere to His commandments. Show more Show less

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

"Mormon" was the term given to us to identify our religion based on our belief that the Book of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ that goes hand-in-hand with the Holy Bible. Show more Show less
