Hi I'm Jeanne

I'm a wife, a mother, a vegetarian, love listening to the Grateful Dead, driving on country roads in my VW Bug, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived my life in upstate NY, in a small rural town. My family owned and operated the family farm - I am the dairyman's daughter! I love my beautiful state and the four glorious seasons we experience here. My husband and I have raised two beautiful sons - they are all grown up now. Luckily I married my best friend, so the empty nest won't be so very lonesome! I own a wonderful lemon yellow VW Bug that we have a blast driving around on back country roads - listening to the Grateful Dead and snapping pictures all along the way. I love the outdoors- camping, hiking, gardening, nature photography, and cross-country skiing. When I'm inside, I love to cook for my family. We enjoy a simple life. I work in a middle school with 6th grade students. I see the devastating results of broken homes. I am so grateful for my childhood home, and the loving home my husband and I have created for our boys. Life is not without it's challenges, but it is good!

Why I am a Mormon

I have always believed that there was a God - and that He was all loving. My faith was greatly tested in 1993, when my older sister died suddenly from an accident. Her death made me question all the things I'd been taught. Questioning is good. A dear friend who knew what I was going through, sent two sweet Sister Missionaries to my door. The things they taught me rang true to my soul. I remember telling them, "I have always known this to be true!" My husband, our two sons, and I were baptized in 2000. It has been not only the best decision I have ever made, but it continues to be the guiding force in my life.

How I live my faith

My faith brings me great joy. I believe people see that in me. I am the only Mormon in my school. People ask me about my faith - and I'm always more than happy to share what I believe! Our eldest son is currently serving a mission for our church in Argentina. People are so curious about what he's doing. It has been a great experience to show them pictures and share with them what our beliefs are. I currently have the blessing of working with the young women - ages 12-18 - in our church. I love being able to make connections with the girls and tell them how the Gospel of Jesus Christ has changed my life. The media sends out such negative messages to women. To know you are the daughter of a Heavenly Father - the daughter of a King - brings much self-worth. It brings a quiet confidence that no one can diminish. I am so blessed to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!
