Hi I'm Chris

I'm a Mormon. I love to ride anything with wheels, (usually two), and the Gospel of Jesus Christ

About Me

I am half Japanese and I'm from North Carolina, I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the San Fernando Valley area of California and I loved every minute of it! I love riding anything with two wheels and I love to play any and every sport although soccer has been my number one.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the south, right in the "Bible Belt." I was raised going to church and going to church activities but i never gave a second thought about why or how religion, whatever it may be, could help me or benefit my life at all. I went with a lot of my friends to other churches and theres no doubt I learned truth at every church i attended. to me all religion was good. when i was 19 i decided to serve a full-time mission and i was called to california san fernando. before you go to the actual place you are assigned, or called to, you go to a missionary training center(MTC) to learn how to be a missionary. my true conversion started there. while in there i had an opportunity to study in depth the doctrines taught in this church. while studying i read an account written by joseph smith about his vision of seeing God the Father and his son Jesus Christ. it was while reading this that i had a feeling come over me that i had never felt before in my life. i knew in that very moment that Joseph smith when he said "i have actually seen a vision...i knew it and i knew thta God knew it, and i could not deny it." i have always struggled to believe that a single man, Jesus Christ, could feel every pain and affliction, and suffer and die for all mankind, but i know now, that because i know that Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ and they did in reality speak to him and that because he testified of christ and restored His church, that christ is my savior. he loves me. he knows me and he did atone for me out of pure love for me and for every one of his people. i love him. i love the gospel and what it has done for me. i'm a mormon simply because this gospel that i came to know of assurity by the power fo the holy ghost is true.

How I live my faith

Like I said before, I served a 2 year mission in Southern California. While there I was able to teach others what I believe to be true and what "Mormonism" is all about. I also was able to help others with any kind of service we could help with. It was such an incredible experience to dedicate every minute of my life for 2 years to serving God and all those around me. It truly taught me so much about who I am and who I want to be and where I'm going in my life. I have to say it wasn't easy at all...I can honestly say it was the most challenging time of my life so far. I had to leave my family and friends and yes my wonderful girlfriend, with only e-mail to communicate so as to keep us focused on the gospel. That being said, I would not trade that experience for anything in my life. The mission I served has made me into a man, I am confident, that will allow me to be a better husband and father, in my personal life, than I would have been without it. I come from a home that Isn't too religious. Most of my immediate family is not currently "active" in any church and I hope to be able to show how this mission and my knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ has blessed my life to them and all those around me.
