Hi I'm Amelia Brown

I grew up on southern California, I'm getting my degree in business, and I love being in a choir. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am attending BYU-Idaho through it's Pathway Program online. I'm working on getting my degree in business, and loving it! I have 1 bio brother, 4 step brothers, 1 step sister, and one nephew! I love doing genealogy, or looking up my ancestors, and finding out what it took for me to be in this world. I have discovered that some of my ancestors came here on the Mayflower!

Why I am a Mormon

There are many reasons why I am a Mormon, but the biggest reason is that I believe that this church has all the truths that our Savior established during his life here on earth. These truths were taken from this earth and were restored by a prophet named Joseph Smith. I believe that prophets and apostles are here on earth today, just as they were in ancient times. I believe they are here to lead us in the ways of the Lord. I believe that Thomas S. Monson to be the living prophet toady. I believe that Jesus is the Christ, our Savior, Redeemer, friend, brother, and He will come to this earth again. I believe that through His infinite Atonement we can return to the presence of our loving Heavenly Father, and be made perfect in his sight.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church every Sunday. I teach a special class on Sundays to help others start learning about their ancestors, and teaching them how they can learn where they come from. I am in a special congregation for single people between the ages of 18-30, this is called a Young Single Adult Ward or YSA ward. Once month I meet with three women from the ward, and make sure they are ok and to see if they need anything, I don't do this by myself though, I have a friend or "companion" who comes with me and she and I also deliver a special spiritual message to these women. I get checked on once a month as well. On week days and nights there are classes taught in what we call an "institute building" where we learn about the Bible, The Book of Mormon, the history of this church, and many other subject, they're like classes for church. I try to attend 2 times a week. On Monday nights we meet at a church leader's house and we have "family home evening" as a ward. This is special because in regular wards, families have their family home evenings as individual families, and we get to have our family home evenings as a ward family. I pray and read my scriptures everyday so I can communicate with my Heavenly Father, this is the most important thing I do to live my faith.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Amelia Brown
I believe that after this life Heavenly Father wants our families to be together forever. When we are married in the temple for time and all eternity our children are automatically sealed to that married couple. When we are sealed for marriage, that marriage is not just until death do us part, it is an eternal marriage. Show more Show less
