Hi I'm Rist

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am retire, with a large empty nest family. I live in a neighborhood where several other retired people live. I have time to do some fishing, give community and church service, and spend time with children and grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

There are several reasons I am a Mormon, but the primary one is best described on page 529 of the Book of Mormon. "4 And when ye shall receive [read the Book of Mormon] these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost."

How I live my faith

There is a spiritual part of life and also a Earthly part of life. As a spirit I grew until I needed a body to continue to progress and God provided one for me. On earth I grew until I needed a home. Thus, I became in debt to God for a body and to a bank for a house. They both expect me to pay the debt in various ways. They both expect me to be a good steward, learn, and use this opportunity for good. Children, Grandchildren, Scouts, church, school, internet and scriptures help to teach me many lessons. These, along with Jesus Christ [who don't forget is very much alive today] teach me how to work, serve others and be a good citizen. Learning both Earthly and spiritual things work together as a life long process until we complete this phase of our training, and are called to account for our experience here.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

From the experiences of Joseph Smith and others we learn that Jesus Christ was not only resurrected in bible times, but that he continues to live today with his [and our] Father and they, along with the Holy Ghost, are very much involved with life [our school] here on Earth and our Father's children [us] who they love.
