Hi I'm Katie

I'm a wife, a mother, and a musician. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of two - almost three - darling kids and the lucky wife of a true gentleman. I play the violin and piano and I get to teach several neighborhood kids about the gift of music. I love travel, politics, beautiful music, and cooking for the people that I love. I love being home with my family - it's my very favorite place to be!

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a Mormon! I love the chances that I get to serve others and stretch myself as I am asked to fill different positions in the Church. Perhaps the greatest blessing of serving in the Church is being able to see the hand of the Lord in not only my life, but in the lives of those that I serve and serve with. I am so thankful that the Lord gives us the opportunity to take care of each other. Although I was blessed with a testimony of the truthfulness of the restored gospel at a very young age, that testimony is reaffirmed daily as I keep the commandments, exercise faith during trials, and strive to be like the Savior in all that I do.

How I live my faith

The full name of the Mormon Church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That title is really a guiding force in how I live my faith. If you asked most people what a saint was, they would describe someone with great faith, a kind heart, love for others, or someone who was exemplary. I'm certainly not there yet, but I try every day to be the kind of person who lifts and strengthens others, who responds to trials with faith and grace, who lives with integrity and honor in all that I do. I pray for strength everyday to know how I can help people, for the strength to smile all the time and to be the best friend and neighbor possible. Because it is the Savior's Church, I try to act in a way that reflects my desire to be a true disciple of Him. And though I'm not perfect, I am trying to be like Jesus, and as I do, I feel my Savior's love in all the world around me. At Church, I am lucky enough to work with the children, ages 18 months to 11 years. I love teaching them, singing with them, and being blessed by their simple faith. When I see them respond with joy to the commandments, it is easy for me to understand why the Savior asked his disciples to become as little children.
