Hi I'm Annie

I'm a school teacher living in Colorado with my husband. We are expecting our first baby in December! I'm happy to be a Mormon.

About Me

I am a special education teacher and program director for students in elementary school. I love my job!!!! Even more, I love spending time with my husband. We just got married six months ago and are expecting our first baby at the end of this year. I love to sing, make new recipes, bike ride, and plan parties!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ and want to be a part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'm a Mormon because I want to hear God's instruction for the world at this time that he communicates through living prophets and apostles. The scriptures say that if you do his will you will know of the doctrine. Well, I'm a Mormon because I have and continue to "experiment upon the word" of God or try my best to live the gospel of Jesus Christ and have tasted enough of the "fruit" to know it's true and truly does yield a peace, happiness, and security to be found no where else. I can't finish this without saying that I'm a Mormon because I know The Book of Mormon is true. In fact, I can't think of anything I am more sure about in this life, besides my testimony of God and Jesus Christ. The influence and change that The Book of Mormon has had and continues to have on my life amazes me. I know God inspired ancient prophets to write his word and modern prophets to translate and publish it. What else could have such a powerful effect upon me than words from heaven intended to bring us to Christ and provide the strength and direction that we need for this life? It's true and that's why I'm a Mormon!

How I live my faith

Day by day, moment by moment. Our Heavenly Father has given us a template for a happy life, the plan of happiness. I love that! My faith is in my Heavenly Father and that this plan comes from him. I live my faith by following that plan. Basic to this plan is learning the will of God and following it. I guess to be more specific, I pray and read the scriptures daily. I try to be totally honest in everything I do and treat and serve people with love as I go about each day. Of course I make mistakes, so each day or moment I see as a chance to "turn" or "change" and be better. In other words, repent! I live my faith by keeping the commandments including making covenants with him like baptism and entering into the temple, going to church on Sunday, living the Word of Wisdom (or law of health that includes avoiding alcohol, tobacco, coffee, tea, and drugs), and being true to the commitments I've made with my husband. I love having a "ward" family. "Ward" is what you call the church congregation organized in a geographical area. Right now, in this congregation, I serve with my husband as Cub Scout leaders and then I also serve on a committee for the church's organization for women (entitled Relief Society). Within that committee I'm in charge of a cooking club! Gotta love that! I also have the opportunity to visit teach five ladies in the ward. Visiting Teaching is the name of a program in the Relief Society where women are paired up in companionships and assigned to visit other ladies in the ward at least once a month to see how they are doing and share a spiritual message with them. It has been a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends and to be a support to each other. Living my faith truly does make me happy. Not to say there are not challenges that come with life, but as I live my faith I have the support, knowledge, and strength to pass through them.
