Hi I'm Sara

I'm a college student, I love all animals, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a college student. I'm studying art. I love to sketch. I believe that art is a powerful form of communication and can help draw people closer to the Lord. I want to develop my talent and use it to help people realize that there are wonderful things in this world. I also have a passion for animals. Right now I have one dog and two cats. I love them, they make me smile and laugh. It also makes me feel more confident when I see that they are comfortable and happy living under my care.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church with a good, active family. I did, however, experience personal conversion. When I was in elementary school, I suffered greatly from Dyslexia. I didn't like going to school. Reading, spelling, and math were very hard for me. I needed a lot of help. After many attempts to find help for me, my parents came accost a private school that was run by Members of our church. They enrolled me there. At that school they prayed and read scriptures in class along with many other things to help us learn. Slowly, but surly, things began to get easier for me. I began to enjoy reading, and math began to flow easier. After a few years at this school I graduated and had to move to a public High-school. I was delighted to find that I didn't need nearly so much help any more. I'm still dyslexic, but I have learned how to manage. I'm still not too proficient in spelling, but thank heavens for spell check! I truly believe that the Lord helped me when I was guided to give more time to him though reading the scriptures and praying. The Lord has continued to show me that he is there, and that he cares about each and every one of us no matter what. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lords true church one again established on the earth, in it's fullness. I have seen it change many peoples lives for the better, including my own. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I feel the Holy Spirit every time I read it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading the scriptures and praying daily. I also try to be a good example to others and live how Jesus Christ would want me to. I am also, currently, a family history coordinator for my congregation. I help our members get exited about doing their family history. I believe family history is very important. We can take the names of our ancestors to our temples and do baptisms for them. Don't worry, we don't do anything creepy, and if our ancestors do not want to accept the baptism, we believe they have the option to reject it. No one is forced to join. I have gained so much strength from learning about my ancestors and they way they lived. They are much more than just names and dates, they were people who lived and struggled. I have also served as a full time missionary for the church in Portland Oregon. It was an experience I'll never forget.
