Hi I'm Julia Garza Kilgore

Julia Kilgore. I grew up In Texas but have lived in Georgia for over 30 years. I own a bridal shop. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I have been married for 38 years and have 4 children and 7 grandchildren. We met in Texas and were married there. I joined the church over 30 years ago. We are the only members on both sides of our family. I started my own business 3 years ago. I own a bridal boutique called The Yellow Rose and I specialize in selling only modest bridal and formal gowns. I enjoy being able to provide women with an option when it comes to selecting a gown. As an owner, I have also been able to promote the importance of modesty especially for young women.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of 2 elderly women who knocked on my door and began teaching me of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was at that time looking for a church to join and after listening to the discussions I made the decision to be baptized into the LDS church. The decision to join the church has been the most important one I have made because it has totally changed my life. Because I became a member, I now have a better understanding of who my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are and how much they love me. I have a better understanding of who I am and my purpose here on earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by making certain that my home is Christ centered and by regularly attending my church meetings. Since joining the LDS church I have taught young children, the youth and adults. I have had the privilege of working in the nursery, teaching high school age students in early morning seminry and teaching in our women's organization. I have held leadership posiitions in the young children's organization and in the young women's group. For the last 7 years until just recently when I was given an other assignemnt, I was heavily involved with working with a large group of women in helping them come unto Chirst which is the mission of our church.
