Hi I'm Mike Cook

Hi, I'm a missionary for the Church, Serving in the Raleigh, North Carolina Mission. I love my Savior, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well, I'm from Colorado. I love to play basketball, hang out with my friends, participate in church activities and to sing. I'm the middle of two children, I have an older brother and a younger brother. My favorite people on the planet are my family and friends, and I love to make new friends. My whole life is being a part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because as of right now I'm serving my mission in the Raleigh, North Carolina mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Like anyone in the world, I went through a period of my life asking unanswered questions like: What is the right path for me? Is there one faith that is correct? Is God there? Does he love me? If he has a church or religion on this Earth, which one is correct? All of these questions hit me like a ton of bricks.... really pointy bricks. I used to lay in bed at night and ask myself if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was the true church, and if it was what I should do? Finally I got on my knees and asked. I prayed to my Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ and asked if the Mormon faith was his church, and the true church here on the Earth today. I received a resounding yes and I know that my prayer was answered through the Holy Ghost. I know that Christ died for my sins, that because of him if I do all that I can, as imperfect as I am, His sacrifice will make up for the rest. I'm so grateful for that.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing, by acting upon the answer I received that this is Christ's Church restored in it's fullness on the Earth today. I'm on my mission to help people come to this same realization for themselves. My purpose as a missionary is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive his restored gospel through; faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Mike Cook
The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It is a volume of holy scripture comparable to the Bible which contains, as does the Bible, the fullness of the everlasting gospel. It is a record of a people who left Jerusalem in around 600 B.C. and migrated to the America's. It is written by prophets called of God to preach to their people and told by Him to record the things happening to the people. The last of those prophets, the Prophet Moroni, exhorts all those who come upon this book to read it, ponder it in their heart, and to ask God the Eternal Father in the name of if the Jesus Christ if the book is true. He then promises if we ask sincerely, with real intent, that the truth of the Book of Mormon will be made known unto us by the Holy Spirit. That by the Holy Spirit, or Holy Ghost, "ye may know the truth of all things". I know this promise to be correct... because I tested it. Show more Show less
