Hi I'm Rachael

I'm a East Coast girl in Texas. I'm a decorator, cook, and homemaker. I'm a mother to two mamas boys. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife to the love of my life, and a mother of two darling little boys who keep me hopping! I love to blog, decorate, play with my kids, try new recipes, and go on vacation with my family. A few of my favorite things are: reality TV(sad but very true), The Cheesecake Factory, date nights with my husband, fall in New England, a clean house, and Diet Coke.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was taught by good parents the gospel and made the choice to find out for myself at a very young age if what they were teaching me was true. I did find out for myself that it was true, and I have had several witnesses throughout my life to the truthfulness of the church, it's principals and doctrines. As a young woman I served a mission for our church in Italy and Malta. I will never forget every single time I taught about Joseph Smith as a young boy, kneeling down praying, and having a miraculous answer to his prayer of God and Jesus Christ appearing to him, every time the Holy Spirit would witness to me again and again that this was a true event. That it really happened. It isn't just a fairy-tale or make-believe. I could never deny what I know and have felt. Faith is having a knowledge of things which are not seen, which are true. I have faith that Jesus Christ lives today. That He and the Father have never changed their ways of communicating with man, that we have a prophet on the earth today. I know that Joseph Smith did see God and Jesus Christ, and that he did translate the Book of Mormon. I love the Book of Mormon. I love how it is a companion to the Bible. I love that it teaches us correct principals and it helps us grow closer to the Savior, who is testifies of. I also love that we can find out for ourselves if it is true, by reading it and praying sincerely to know if it is a true word of God. I have done this for myself and can honestly say that no other book has ever changed my life the way the Book of Mormon has. My day is better when I read from it. I am better when I read it. Through the gospel and our Savior Jesus Christ I am a better person. A better wife, mother, daughter, friend. To me it all just makes sense. In my heart and in my mind. I see the good fruits of my belief and faith, and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I served a mission in Italy/Malta 01-03 I'm a mother who tries daily to teach my sons correct principals and have harmony and the spirit in our home. I serve as a ward (our local congregation) missionary. I help the full time missionaries where I can and also reach out in our community and with neighbors to help people know more about our beliefs and values.

What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

As Mormons we know that life doesn't end at death. We know that we lived before we came to this earth and we know that we will continue to exist when we die. Because the Savior atoned in Gethsemane and died on the cross every single person who has lived on the earth will be resurrected with a perfect body, just as our Savior was. It is a free gift He has willingly given us through His sacrifice. This knowledge brings me such peace and comfort. Nothing is more important to me than my relationships with my family. To know through the witness of the Holy Spirit that I will be with my grandparents, parents, brothers, husband, and children forever brings me such happiness. Show more Show less
