Hi I'm Joe

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in California with what might be considered a stereotypical large Mormon family; I have one sister and five brothers. Family has always been a source of happiness for me. That's why I am glad to say that I am working on growing my own little family. What takes up most of my time, and what I would consider as my favorite past time, is supporting and caring for my wife and two children. Anything that involves spending time with them is what I like to do best. Besides caring for my family, I enjoy flying airplanes. In my current occupation I have been blessed with the opportunity to do just that. Almost every day I have the opportunity to look down on God's creation with wonder and awe. When I am not working or taking care of family, I enjoy reading a good book and mountain biking.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who are very active in the Mormon faith and who worked hard to ensure that I was raised according to its tenets. I can’t say that I ever really doubted that what they taught me was true. From my earliest memories, I remember believing that what I was being taught was true. Along the way, my experiences have strengthened my belief that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is truly God’s church on earth. Early in life, my family experienced many financial hardships. I remember a few occasions where my parents called the family together to explain that there was no more money and that they didn’t know how they would be able to continue to provide food and shelter. Despite these struggles, my parents always did their best to follow the lessons they were trying to teach their children. Each time we were blessed so that things worked out. These small miracles helped me to believe that what my parents taught was true, but my conversion has occurred through a much more gradual process. My conversion to the gospel of Christ has come as I have struggled to overcome my own challenges and follow His teachings. Through my efforts to follow Christ’s teachings, I have felt His love and guidance in my life. It has been those feelings of peace and love that have led me to know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is God’s church.

How I live my faith

I try to be active in my church community and abide by its teaching and precepts. I enjoy serving within the church and the opportunities that I have to share Christ’s gospel with others. I also enjoy serving within my community. Most importantly, I am grateful for what my faith has taught me. We are all children of God, and he loves each of us. As I go throughout my day, I try to remember that. I try to treat those around me like brothers and sisters, because we are.
