Hi I'm Michael

I have swam oceans, climbed mountains, and crossed deserts; but most important I am a husband, father, grandfather, and a Mormon.

About Me

I am a retired professor who has become busier than ever. I own a company that hosts philanthropic events and enjoy working within my community. I am a happy husband, grateful father, and blessed grandfather. I have four happily married children and my wife and I love our fourteen grandchildren. I have been married for 38 years and cherish each and everyone of them. . . even the rough ones.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because there was a time in my life when I wanted more. More from myself, more from those around me, and more from heaven. My search lead me to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That was nearly 40 years ago. In the years that followed I have come to expect more of myself, appreciate more in those around me, and walk more humbly before heaven. I am a Mormon because I believe in God the Eternal Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. I am a Mormon because I believe there is purpose to life and the hope of life eternal. I am a Mormon because I have come to know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints is lead by a prophet of God who speaks to the world. I often reflect on my life prior to my baptism. There is more pain and sorrow there than I care to remember. I believe I reflect on that time in my life because there is so much peace in my life now. I am a Mormon because the Gospel of Jesus Christ offers answers to life's greatest questions.

How I live my faith

Over the years I have had the opportunity to be involved in community projects that have helped the local museum, repaired shelters for the homeless, built a refuge for the abused, and served at the food bank and soup kitchen. I also visit the elderly and the infirm in our neighborhood.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

My answer is simple. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, literally. He was born into this world of a mortal mother and an immortal father. Prior to His birth he created the earth and governed its people. As a mortal He lived a perfect life, taught principles of truth, atoned for the sins of all mankind, and gave His life a ransom for us. After His death he was resurrected, completed His work for the redemption of the repentant, and commissioned His gospel to go throughout the earth. He lives! Show more Show less
