Hi I'm Dustin Dugger

I'm a father of five, a husband, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband, and a father of 5 children. For 8 years I worked 1000 feet underground, 5 miles inside a coal mine. I college courses wherever I could, and obtained an Associate's degree in Instrumentation and Controls. I used this education to obtain a new job as a trainee working with electronics and electricity. I love making things, from small electronics and soldering and programming, to woodworking. When our car breaks down in some way, I am the one who endeavors to fix it, because I will learn something new.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a teenager we moved a lot, and when I was 17 we lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I finally questioned why I should believe my parents. I asked my bishop at the time this very question. He smiled and told me it was a good question. Why should I believe my parents? It wasn't about believing my parents, or the bishop, or some pastor, or my friends, or anyone else. My answer needed to come from Heavenly Father. I can only say that the more I lived the gospel, and the more I repeatedly asked to know of a certainty about the truths I had been taught, the more I felt the Lord's Holy Spirit testifying to me. At age 20 served a mission in Chile. During those 2 years some of my most valuable life lessons. I learned by talking to hundreds and hundreds of people. I saw what consequences were in the lives of others, and learned a great deal about life. I felt on many occasions, the peace and love of our Heavenly Father through his Holy Spirit. I learned to trust in Him. I felt His Spirit so strongly at times, that it will forever be impossible for me to deny this Gospel and His Church. I know this to be His church on the earth. Now he has blessed me with a beautiful wife and 5 kids. We are given many opportunities so see our faith grow. My faith and testimony continues to grow, because of the blessings and answers to our prayers we see in our lives. Truly, we can be still and know that He is God. He does know us, and He does love us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day by holding myself to the promises I made when I chose to follow Jesus Christ and become a member of his Church. I try to be honest in all my dealings with my fellow man. When I offend another, I go out of my way to come to an understanding and apologize to that person. I try to keep God's commandments at all times. I know I'm not perfect, but I keep trying! My wife and I now have the daunting task of teaching our kids right from wrong; of teaching them the Gospel. I am aware of their desire to please me, but still try to teach them to make choices for themselves, and to voluntarily choose for themselves. Many of the men I work with are a bit rough around the edges. I am grateful I can be an example to them by showing them my happiness comes from my family and religion. I don't use swear words, smoke, drink, nor chew tobacco. I try to treat everyone the same as I would want to be treated. I love knowing who I am, and why I am here on this earth. Thanks to the church, I can always improve myself and find the people who will help each other on the way.
