Hi I'm Petter

I love to read and play with my kids. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am enjoy reading a variety of books and periodicals to learn more about other people and what makes the world go round. I do recruitment and have worked in a variety of industries. I find career development a very interesting, relevant and important aspect of life and really enjoy what I do. I like chat with other people and find out what their story is; where they've been, what they've learned along the way.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon by some amazing parents. Their example, more than their words, was a strong influence for decisions I would make later in life and was probably the start of my own testimony of the gospel. The summer before I turned 19, I had prayed to know if it would be right to serve as an LDS Missionary. I was working as a roofer and one afternoon, while talking with a co-worker, I had the chance to share the story of Joseph Smith's First Vision. After I finished explaining the details and significance of that event to my friend I had a strong, clear, peaceful feeling and knew first that God had just answered my prayer and second that it was important for me to share the story of Joseph Smith's First Vision and the gospel of Jesus Christ with others. I was called to serve a mission in Moscow, Russia where sharing that same story was central to our introducing the gospel of Jesus Christ. In all the roles I now fill (father, husband, employee, friend etc) striving to live the principals of the gospel of Jesus Christ has blessed my life in so many ways. When life is frustrating and difficult peace is available. When action needs to be taken and decisions need to be made there is a source for direction and strength. By doing my best to live the principals that Jesus Christ taught and that His modern day prophets teach and studying the scriptures I have gained a testimony of His gospel and am very grateful for it.

How I live my faith

I have few great opportunities within my ward. I get to teach the gospel once a month and love going through the learning process of preparing a lesson and discussing it with others. I also work with the cub scouts to help them get their scouting awards. It is challenging and rewarding. Recently, I was also asked to start assisting other members of our ward learn how to do genealogy work. It is a process that is pretty new to me so I am looking forward to learning how to do this for the benefit of my immediate family and those I will get to work with. I also go home teaching to a couple great families in our neighborhood once a month and really enjoy the friendships this has helped build. Like my parents, I hope to be able to have my actions influence others for good more than what I say.
