Hi I'm Kim

I'm from Southern California. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a convert to the church. A good friend introduced me to the gospel. I love that the church is Christ centered and believes the family unit is important. I enjoy the opportunities I have to serve not only at church, but in our community as well. I'm a wife and a mom. I love to travel to exotic locations and meet new people. I make jewelry and just about any other craft there is. I appreciate handmade items and the love that goes into them. I'm Kim and I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I always admired my friends family and the warmth I felt from her parents. My friend asked if I wanted to join the church and I said, "I'll never be a Mormon". Flash forward several years. I called this same friend and told her my troubles and how I was so down because of the way my life had gone. She asked if I would like to listen to the missionaries. I did and found out I am child of God. I was baptised about 5 weeks later.

How I live my faith

I am a member of the world's largest womens organization. I help to teach lessons and give counsel to those in need.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Kim
All positions in our church are held by laymen. None of the things we do are paid for by the church. The missionaries are the same way. They work and save to pay for their own missions. Many families begin missionary funds while the children are young. Sometimes relatives help to fund the mission and also the church will help fund a mission of someone who is not able to pay for their own mission. I chose to go on a mission when I was 24. I was baptised two years prior. My family helped me out by paying for my mission. Even though I was the only member in my family, they supported my decision. I served my mission in the Guatemala Quetzaltenango Mission. My Dad actually supported me through our family business. Those 18 months were the best months the business ever had. The Lord blessed my Dad in a language he understood. Show more Show less
